Project "Development of digital skills for the development of new products and technologies in Latvian bussinesses"

• Studies in short cycle study programs (programs up to 12 academic hours).
• Training in long-cycle professional development programs (programs for higher education institutions ranked by Times Higher Education or higher education institutions recognized by the Palmes of Excellence; covering the costs of final beneficiaries is ensured).
• Online learning on international education platform according to the Regulation of the MK No. 529 for the limitations of § 834.
• Provision of conferences and informative events (promote the involvement of Latvian businessmen in training events; support in the development of digital transformation and development of new products and services.
• Project management.

Project duration: 30 months (from January 2024 to June 30, 2026).

The total planned financing is 7,930,000 euros:

• Financing of the Recovery Fund: 6,100,000 euros.
• Private eligible costs: 1,830,000 euros.

At least 950 merchants will have the opportunity to successfully improve their employees' skills, as suggested in the recommendations of the road map developed as part of the company's digital maturity test.

• The training necessary for the development of digital skills has been provided to at least 950 merchants.
• At least 550 merchants will participate in short-cycle training programs.
• At least 350 merchants will participate in long-cycle training programs.
• At least 50 merchants will participate in online training programs. 
• The total number of training participants in the companies is planned to be 5,000 employees.

Since August 2022, Latvian businessmen can apply to Latvia's European Digital Innovation Centers, incl. In the Latvian Digital Accelerator and its partners to conduct a digital maturity test and receive support for digital transformation. The Latvian Digital Accelerator specializes in the creation of new digital products, services and platforms, evaluating companies' digitization strategy and readiness, data management and interoperability, automation and green digitization, as well as employee-oriented digitization.

Micro, small, medium and large merchants registered in the Republic of Latvia have applied to the Digital Accelerator of Latvia for the assessment of digital maturity and are implementing the necessary training measures to improve the skills of employees in accordance with the recommendations received. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to provide access to training for at least 950 merchants, adapting to the company's needs.
